Lisk (LSK) is a modular cryptocurrency based on Sidechain technology. Sidechain is an add-on to the blockchain system. The existence of Lisk began as a fork of Crypti. in 2017 Lisk's capitalization was about $9 million and Lisk became the second most successful crowdfunding cryptocurrency project (the DAO project which raised $164 million) and the first successful modular cryptocurrency.
The idea of modularity is sidechains. Each blockchain application exists as a separate sidechain which is separated from the main blockchain and protected by a group of 101 nodes, which differs from the standard Proof-of-stake (PoS) algorithm forming a new delegated Proof of Stake. These nodes are considered leading and are selected by the owner of the application.
Sidechain technology is designed to solve the problem of scalability which is inherent in many cryptocurrencies. One of the main drawbacks of the blockchain technology is that it can be intentionally overloaded with artificial transactions. Lisk is protected from this by sidechains which enter information into the main blockchain without interacting with the main text.
Microsoft has partnered with Lisk to integrate cryptocurrencies into Azure Blockchain as a BaaS service, so developers around the world can improve, test and deploy Lisk applications using Microsoft's Azure computing power.
Lisk tokens are important for transactions within the system itself for registering user names and also for adding applications to the Dapp Store. Lisk positions itself as an alternative to Ethereum. The project is more flexible and simple which should enable you to take your market share.
